“I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.” – Kurt Vonnegut

Hey! I’m Faheem Moosa. During the recession in 2009, I was so frustrated with my corporate job in Toronto, Canada that I quit without knowing what I would do next. In my quest to live life on my own terms, I ended up starting a management consulting business that allows me to live and work from anywhere in the world. The business was almost immediately profitable and continues to be so. Starting it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I now know that I’ll never go back to 9 to 5 corporate life, because freedom is freakin’ addictive.

Traditional vs. Non-traditional

Traditionally, you see business founders use a ton of personal savings; take loans from friends, family or banks; raise angel or venture capital – or do a combination of these – to start and build businesses. Building a business involved bricks and mortar, hiring several full-time employees and assembling them under one roof. Great businesses have been built and continue to be built this way.

The last few years, however, have seen a different movement emerge altogether. Thanks to the web, you can now start a business with very little investment, operate virtually, run an ultra light operation with hardly any full-time employees, cater to a global audience – and have all the freedom in the world to do as you like and live the life you want. I’m not talking about shady make-money-online types of scams. I’m talking about legitimate businesses that create real value for customers and generate a few hundred thousand dollars or even a million and more per year. No, it’s not easy, but more and more people are proving that it can be done.

This is the category of business founders I’ve become increasingly fascinated with – non-traditional, radical and living the most interesting and fulfilling lives.

RadicalTribe.com’s Mission

The mission of this site is to have honest, open and engaging conversations with such founders and create thoughtful and action-oriented case studies of their success. It is important that you are not just informed and inspired about the art and science behind creating your own freedom, but are able to take action and actually do something about it! My aim is to take you towards the edge so you live your life out there, rather than in the center, where the majority of people live. The edge is where you will unlock your potential and find fulfillment.
